What You’ll Learn — Week After Week
Weeks 1-3 – Getting Started
- Welcome to music-making + Ableton Live
- Drum sounds and basic rhythms with samples
- Build our first Drum Rack
Weeks 4-5 – Confidence Building & Revise Weeks
- Revise Weeks 1–3 and build confidence
Weeks 6–8: The Beat Factory
- Create loops with our Drum Rack
- Make dance beats
- Name tracks, organise channels, and basic gain staging
Weeks 9–10: Review & Sharing
- Practice beat-making skills
- Share creations with classmates
Weeks 11–13: Melody Magic
- Try different instruments
- Create simple melodies
- Combine melodies with beats
Weeks 14–15: Review + Mini-Concert
- Parents invited on Week 15
Weeks 16–18: Sound Adventure
- Select videos to create sound design for it.
- Explore Splice and choose the right sounds
- Create sound stories
Weeks 19–20: Review & Revision
- Review & Revision
Weeks 21–23: Music Building Blocks
- Simple song structure for video ( from week 16 ) (beginning, middle, end)
- Make verses and choruses
- Add excitement and transitions
Weeks 29–30: Review + Mini DJ Party (Parents) + Video Sound Design Showcase
- Microphone safety
- Record our own sounds
- Add our voices to our project
Weeks 31–33: Recording Time
- Plan our final song
- Cleaning up with EQs
